Today is Ollie’s Birthday!

Every year there’s a special day in your life.  A day like no other.

The Meadow Gang dances it up on Tiki Beach.
What’s more fun than a birthday Tiki Beach dance party?

On the day you were born the world changed and became more special.  This day is a special day to celebrate because even though many people are also born on your birthday, there’s only one you.

Every year there’s a special day in the meadow, too.

Well, every day is a special day in the meadow so this would be an extra special day.  It happens once a year like all special days.  This day is Ollie Bug’s birthday.  It happens every year on this day, the 30th day of the month of August which happens on the day after the 29th.

Birthdays are fun days.

Everyone who loves you comes together to celebrate you with a party, a cake and presents.  There’s laughter and friends and fun.  All because you’re you.

Whether you celebrate the moment of your arrival on just one day, the week or even the entire month, do your best to celebrate because there’s truly only one you.  In all the world and throughout all time, for everyone who’s ever been and who’s here now there will only ever be one you.  That’s worth a special celebration.  And cake.

As for Ollie, well, he’s a perpetual child and so birthdays carry that much more magic.   Since his day falls in the summer and not in the fall, there’s a big party on Tiki Beach.  There are glowing lights strung on lines from the swaying palms and a tiki hut, surf boards (no one really knows how to surf) and special tiki drinks (special in that they are only fruit juice).  And cake.

At dinner time the delivery of pizzas from Moonwater Pizza and Calzone arrives and it becomes a night time beach pizza party with a bonfire and tiki lights until finally, everyone has to go home.

It’s always day spent among good friends and good cheer under the sun.  Just as your birthday celebration should be.

Oliver Bug is an adventurer, detective, inventor and gourmet chef residing in Moonwater Meadow.  He can often be found in his workshop putting out small unintentional fires.
