On This Day In Moonwater Meadow History:
The First Successful Jet Pack Launch
After several attempts at jetpack construction, most of which failed, Ollie perfected his design. Then came many messy attempts at creating a fuel source since he isn’t allowed to play with flammable materials.
There was the peanut butter fiasco which resulted in gallons of sticky peanut goop clogging the apparatus and sticking to his fur. Then there was the idea to power the device with hot chocolate which resulted in little more than a contest to see which of his friends could drink the most hot chocolate without barfing. Finally, Ollie stumbled upon the explosive propulsive power of popcorn.
Special combustion canisters were fabricated. A butter chamber and a corn chamber were fastened together with a central canister for the mixture. A small salt box was added to the top for extra flavor. Some of the early tests resulted in mountains of fresh popcorn bursting through the walls of the treehouse which turned into the Meadow’s largest movie night.
Today, however, everything came together and Ollie, strapped to the popcorn powered jetpack made the first successful launch which lasted just over four minutes and led to the future discovery of mama’s best linens for a parachute. This of course led to the Meadow’s longest period of Ollie being grounded to his room.
Today is also known as the day it rained popcorn in the Meadow, an unanticipated side effect of this new technology.
