An Ollie Holiday About Cookies

A cookie break with friends.
Another holiday, another batch of cookies!

Some holidays, like some cookies taste better than others.

Some holidays are named for exactly what they taste like.  Valentine’s Day tastes like strawberry cupcakes, Halloween tastes like apple cider cookies whereas President’s Day tastes like furniture polish.

Stuff Yourself With Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookies, for example.

It’s a very simple holiday to observe.  After school all the kids get together and share the giant batches of cookies their parents baked with them.  Everyone thinks their parents make the best batch.  Really, who’s mama or papa doesn’t bake the best cookies?  Well, my grandmother didn’t bake the best anything but that’s a story known as, “Are we supposed to eat these or play hockey with them?”

Everyone gathered at Ollie’s house with their cookie batches to watch movies, sip hot chocolate and of course, stuff themselves with the best butterscotch chocolate chip cookies in the Meadow. The only problem was, they couldn’t say whose was the best.  They all had something different about them.  And so it went, that the gang swapped cookies until they could fit no more.  After all, today is not about who makes the best, but who can eat the most!

This is also know unofficially as, “The One Day It’s Okay To Spoil Your Dinner Day”.
